Jesmonite is an eco-friendly safe alternative to resin, plaster and concrete. Jesmonite is considered a sustainable material. Its source material is natural and it has a low energy manufacturing process.
-
Did you know
Jesmonite is an incredibly versatile, strong composite material, formed from a reactive raw mineral powder base combined with a water-based acrylic resin which is eco-friendly & all recyclable.
-
Good to know
All Jesmonite products are water-based, non-solvent and contain no VOC's.
VOC's stands for Volatile Organic Compounds - these are harmful chemicals that are released in the form of vapours during the drying process. As Jesmonite is water-based and solvent-free, it will not release harmful, toxic chemicals whilst the powder and liquid are reacting.
-
What does it mean..
Solvent-free and water-based are closely linked. The liquid component of Jesmonite is water-based which doesn't feature any solvents and therefore does not release toxic chemicals into the environment whilst curing.
Candle Care Guide
Before burning your candles please respect this candle burn instructions that come with your candles. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to inaccurate burning time, heat damage, injuries, and fire.
- Before you light a candle, always trim the wick to ¼ inch. Trimming wicks will help prolong the life of your candle.
- Burn candle no more than 3 hours at a time and cool for at least two hours before relighting.
- While unlit, keep your candles away from dust, direct sunlight or heat sources; heat can melt your candles and they might lose shape. If dropped, the candle will break or chip.
- Do not apply force on your candles and do not force them into candle holder or they will break.
- Wax spillage is expected, make sure you place them on a heat resistant, deep tray or dish.
- Never let your candle burn all the way down - this can damage the container and in some circumstances lead to the base splitting or cracking. Once it's about 1cm from the base or holder, it's time for farewells.
Jesmonite candle pots can be repurposed for use as plants pots. Please note that prolonged water contact may change the appearance of the pot with time - I'd recommend using a liner.

Did you know
Sometimes candles may develop frosting which is a natural effect in vegetable waxes that will give a stone effect to your candle. This appears because the wax is trying to return back to its natural form and as a result it begins to crystallize. It doesn’t affect the performance of the candle in any way and also means your wax is 100% natural.
-
Hint
Remove any debris left in the wax pool such as wick trimmings or matches. Any debris will add more fuel to the candle than it’s designed to handle. Too much fuel can cause the flame to unexpectedly flare up or even start a small fire near the candle flame. Wicks that are left long or crooked can cause uneven burning, dripping, flaring and sooting.
-
Why soy wax
Soy wax does not release toxins when lit & burns cleaner, produces as much as 90 percent less soot than paraffin. Soy wax won't ruin your walls: The emissions from paraffin candles build up on walls, staining the paint in your home
-
Good to know
Unscented candles are hypoallergenic. By providing fragrance free candles, people who are sensitive or even allergic to fragrances can still enjoy the ambiance and decorative elements that a candle provides, without the negative effects of scent.
-
Tip
Your candles will burn up to 25% longer if you trim the wick every couple of hours. Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom.” The wick will then become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame. Plus, your candle will start to smoke and release soot.
